Happy 1st day of June love! My 36th birthday is tomorrow (June 2) and I am looking forward to it. Birthdays for me is a time to reflect on my progress and growth. As I’m approaching a new age and year, I realize how fortunate and blessed I am to have the ability to embark on a journey of new life developments. To be given that opportunity, should never be taken for granted. Every birthday I wish for growth, wisdom, love, health, happiness and success. I know that all these things are attainable if I continue to push limits and never settle. I’m no where finished accomplishing all that I dream to so with God granting me the power to do so means that I just need to whip into action facing any fears head on. The only person that can stop me is me and I made the choice long ago to get out of my own way.

Starting my style blog this year was definitely a goal that I set out to accomplish and I’m proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone, facing the challenge and just going for it. Sometimes you have to really just give yourself a pat on the back and the credit for being triumphant especially after taking a leap of faith not knowing what’s going to happen. All I knew was that I loved style and fashion so talking about it couldn’t be that bad. My blog is a part of my journey, a journey of style and creative vision. I’m an artist and will always be an artist at heart.

This birthday outfit to me is a perfect way to start off my new year in style. It coordinates so well with who I am, showing that I’m in control and destined to stand out among the crowds. My mustard color top with the v neck zipper radiates my skin tone and pairs perfectly with my gold and black sequin print shorts. Another perfect component of my look is the ballerina lace-up heels I’m wearing to set the look on fire, which by the way is my absolute favorite shoe right now. The accessories add the finishing touches creating my final birthday look.

So bam! There you have it. My style being the core representation of who I am and where I am headed. What perfect way to express that then on my birthday?!?

Are there any challenges you face putting your birthday look together? Do you have a hard time finding the birthday outfit that represents you and where you’re headed? I hope you like my birthday outfit and that it inspired your birthday look. XO
