Color Psychology: Wear Colors that Speak Your Life Mood

Color Psychology: Wear Colors that Speak Your Life Mood

Are you aware of how colors affect your mood? Or how people perceive you based on the colors you wear? It’s not called color psychology for nothing. Colors stimulate certain emotions, evoking behavioral and physical responses. These days I wear certain colors because of it and that complement my skin tone. When shopping for wardrobe styles I’m always in my feelings looking for colors that draw me in (not exactly like Drake over Kiki though, lol). I want the colors I wear to speak of my growth and how confident I feel. So for me, there’s really no question why I wouldn’t wear colors that speak my life mood.

Red is one of my go to colors for clothing because it represents a new chapter for me. It stimulates energy, encourages action, confidence, strength, passion and increases enthusiasm. In countries like China and India, red is associated with good luck. Not a bad color to wear when you’re focused on leveling up right?!? I just always love how red looks on me and how it makes me feel, confident and fierce. Red never lets me down.

Since color psychology is a determinant of human behavior it’s clear that wearing colors can automatically positively or negatively affect your mood. Here are some other colors that provide a positive perception of you and lift your spirits.

Orange feelings of excitement, warmth and playfulness.

Green cool, health and renewal.

Blue order, sedative and security.

Purple soothing, royalty and spirituality.

Pink vulnerability, safety and femininity.

Black elegance, sophistication and power.

White purity, innocence and a new beginning.

How do you feel about wearing colors to evoke certain feelings and behavior? Do you pick clothing for the style and color or just the style? What is your favorite color to wear and why?

I clearly have a lot of questions because I’m so curious to know the answer. Let’s have a conversation about how colors make you feel in the comments. Invite your friends to join the conversation and make sure to subscribe so we can talk some more later on future posts.
