A Fall Style Transition

A Fall Style Transition

We might as well say that fall is here love bugs and I’m here for it. My love for fall fashion has grown over the years and I am starting to love it just as much as I do spring/summer fashion. For one thing, I love how most spring and summer wardrobe can be easily transitioned to fall. Especially functional pieces like my tiered sleeve floral print dress I have pictured as part of my fall style transition. And while I’ll be going against all the fashion rules this fall undermining the no white after labor day rule, there’s also no giving up on floral print wardrobe either just because summer is over and done for the year.

Let me just say this – don’t be afraid to take fashion risks this fall by wearing the very wardrobe items that may be justified as not fall worthy. Embrace fall through your personal style by making fashion choices that best justifies you. I curated a list of “fall don’ts” that I’m saying “fall do” to.

Wear white (let’s kill the “no white after labor day” nonsense)! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – white is symbolic for so many positive notions of life. New beginnings, growth, goodness, purity, light are just some of the connotations that represent the color so how could you not wear the color throughout the year. Just scrap away all those light and thin fabrics like linen and flowy to more heavier fabrics that adds a complementary look of fall. It definitely helps when you wear white with or include autumn hues.

Peep toe booties are the best when it comes to in between seasons like summer and winter – and fall is absolutely it. And why freaken not?!? You get the best of both worlds. When the temperature starts to switch to much cooler temps, its still not cold enough to put those toes away so the pedicure continues. I love that peep toe booties are so functional that you can wear them with pants or dresses and still be cute while weather appropriate.

Floral print and patterns are for fall too – with autumn floral hues that is (like burgundy, copper red, forest green, curry). The playful and pastel floral print designs can be replaced with more subtle, but deeper shaded tones. Or how about a mix of both like the pictured dress. Don’t put away your floral patterned wardrobe just yet floral pattern lover. Bask away in those autumn subdued hues of the blooming pattern.

Lastly wear a dress, but with sleeves and heavier fabric (to name a few: polyester, cotton, rayon). Sleevesless? Add a vest, blazer or jacket to solve all your weather appropriate dress wearing woes. If you’re like me, you love wearing dresses and will do just about anything to make sure that you can style in one no matter the season. Still not cold enough to wear with tights, I just paired them with taupe color peep toe booties.

What summer fashion styles are you having trouble deciding whether or not you should be wearing in the fall? You stopping by means a great deal. Please leave a comment and don’t forget to subscribe. Xoxo
