Hey beautiful lady, hey! I hope you’re staying cool. With so many heat waves happening from coast to coast we are really getting it bad this summer. I don’t blame anyone for wearing barely there clothing to stay cool because even for someone like myself that don’t care to show a whole lot of skin, (that’s just me being a conservative dresser) I let go in the summer time by showing some skin in a sophisticated + graceful sort of way. Summer always calls for looser clothing, lighter colors, sleeveless, spaghetti straps, dresses, skirts, shorts, swimsuits + sandals. If it’s freeing, it’s being worn during the season of heat.
While vacationing in Palm Springs earlier this month the winds were kicking up hot crisp air. As you can probably tell in the last photo of my spaghetti strap sun dress, the wind was playing no games at one point. Although it wasn’t windy the whole time + not quite as windy in Palm Desert (where I spent most of my vacay at the Westin Desert Willow Villas), my dress fabulously blew in the summer wind because of its loose + satin fabric. It covered up just the right places + was freeing enough to stay cool. It was the essential day look for the location + weather. What else should you be wearing to a place like Palm Springs?!?
The pattern along with the colors of the dress are the perfect combo for the summer time. Not to mention the emerald green against my skin tone is a match made in heaven. It complemented me so well that the compliments were endless. The calf-length style of the dress perfected my 5’2″ petite frame. It didn’t overwhelm or underwhelm like some long maxi dresses have the tendency to do. The flounce top of the satin dress helped camouflage my small bosoms + added a chicness. It flowed right becoming one of my favorite sun dress styles by far.
Ever have trouble discovering what sun dress styles best complement your body shape? How do you know if it’s the right style for you? Thank you for stopping by + checking out my new fav dress style for my petite + pear body shape. I hope you enjoyed this outfit post. Xo
