One Year Blogiversary

One Year Blogiversary and a Velvet Dress

Omg!!! It’s February 3rd! Happy 1 Year Style Me Fancy by Pentené!!! Kind of trippin’ out that I’m celebrating my one year blogiversary + honored to celebrate it with you. But really, I need a moment to digest it because woo that went by fast. Lol

I am so proud of myself (sometimes you gotta clap for yourself too) for staying consistent throughout my adversities + just tremendously grateful for you, my readers. You make me feel like starting this journey wasn’t in vain + that I’m doing something right to keep you coming back + subscribing to see what more I have to offer. I’ve always had a profound love for style + fashion (Although not too late – I once had a dream to be a fashion designer just before graduating from high school + started a wardrobe styling company later in my adulthood instead) + begin to feel like it was a purpose of mine to inspire others + just like that, my blog Style Me Fancy by Pentené was born.

I did not know how I would be accepted into the already saturated world of style + fashion bloggers, but one thing I knew for sure was that being TRUE to MYSELF was a way for me to stand out of the pack. And besides, I’m a personal wardrobe stylist with skills to curate a wardrobe look to fit a person’s personal style. I had my voice, style + a desire to empower other women on how to be true to themselves through fashion too. I started the journey trying to figure it all out as I went along + let me just say that I’ve learned a lot along the way. I know that I still have a ways to go – and I’m fine with that. I’m enjoying the process + where it’s going. It’s just the beginning!

Looking back at my very first blog post, as you could imagine, my vision for my blog has changed quite a bit. As life changes, so does your outlook. As a marketing consultant once told me, “listen to your business + it will guide you”. My purpose became clearer as I dove deeper into my new personal space sharing my style journey going from focusing on special occasion style to personal style for any occasion. I slightly redefined the meaning behind the word “Fancy” by defining it as decorative + unapologetic. It evolved into a space for the everyday woman to be exposed to the importance of style + develop ways to discover her own personal style – and learn the fundamentals of articulating it. The use of my wardrobe looks through style inspiration continues to be a way for my readers to identify her own.

I’m just extremely obsessed with how style is the very fiber of who we are + the first statement made before speaking. That’s why it’s important that we identify our personal style. It’s that very reason I started this journey to begin with because of the joy I have for helping others with style + image. As it’s been said time + time again, “Image is Everything”.  And that, it truly is.

Not only is this a post about my one year anniversary, but I also had to share how much I’m crushin’ on velvet, one of my fave fabrics because of the way it feels + looks – smooth + soft. This grey velvet open back drape detail bodycon dress that I got from Boohoo is the perfect celebration dress (it could make a fabulous Valentines day dress by the way). The fabric, open back + drape detail makes it an alluring, elegant + chic styled dress that will make your date swoon – and let’s be real, your girls too. I bet ya! Just make sure to wear a backless bra to show off that beautiful back (get you one here).

Added are stand out accessories to create an additional bold statement which includes a Guess three tier stone drop earrings, matching Guess stone bib statement necklace, cocktail rings from H&M + Betsey Johnson Prince Pumps that look like glitter princess slippers. Oh + can’t forget my celebratory manicure using a white polish from Sephora by O.P.I. with a layer of gold glitter called ‘Sleigh My Name’ by Sinful Colors. Yes, sleigh or slay it girl!

Thanks for celebrating my 1 year with me! What’s your fave fabric to wear that fits your personal style? I look forward to your comment, share + subscription. Xoxo
