My gorgeous beauty. Sorry I’ve been away for a little while. I took a bit of a break from my blog to be present and to get my life in order. Life will do that to you sometimes. I love connecting with you here and so my break was just that, a break. I couldn’t stay away any longer.
Part of my break involved a lot of reflecting in part due to where I am in my life currently, what more I want out of my life and what actions are required of me in order to get there. I was doing a lot of soul digging and realized that it was a beautiful part of my personal development journey, self-reflection. I hope I inspire you to do the same. Let’s dig a little deeper into how self-reflection for personal development can be of benefit to your life.
Self-Reflection is a humbling process. It’s essential to find out why you think, say, and do certain things…then better yourself.
I’ll have to say that my process is not done and I’m sure it’s something that I’ll always need to do when I’m feeling stagnant. A reflection of how you view yourself comes out in the way you walk, talk, dress, how you treat people, who you’re surrounded by, how you respond, your actions and the outcome. I am fully aware, and it’s a start to a much more fulfilling life. You’ll notice as you get older that the negative actions of others towards you are indeed a reflection of themselves. Don’t allow their words to trick you into thinking otherwise. The reflection you have of yourself is what matters, always.

Here are some benefits of self-reflection for personal development ( and what I discovered)
1 It helps with self-awareness/ It’s a component to emotional intelligence. Self-awareness gives you the ability to recognize your impact on others by understanding your weaknesses, strengths, emotions, values and goals. You put the negative feelings into check and pivot immediately. Once you understand the power of your thoughts it’s life changing from there.
2 It helps with self-regulation/ We are responsible for are own actions. The sooner you realize this the better off you’ll be. You will not be so easily influenced by outsiders and you start making decisions based off of your own needs (not the needs of others). Managing your life in a way that reduces stress will release so many toxins. Understanding your limits on your own accord is the perfect way to feel free.
3 It helps you absorb information more quickly/ Being alert is a healthier and more productive way of being. You’re more resourceful when you are mindful of yourself and everything around you. Narrowing your concentration begins to widen your focus and you’re eager to learn.
4 It helps you tune in to who you are/ What would this conversation be without mentioning style. It’s easier to get a grip on your personal style when you understand yourself better. You are more determined to feel and look like yourself when you’ve taken the moment to do so. Besides your thoughts, your style is the other thing you can control.
5 It helps you learn from your mistakes/ Two things that are easily learning tools: mistakes and failures. Many believe that they are a negative, but they can really be a positive too. How else will you strive to live a better life if things are always going well. It’s always an opportunity to do better and be a better person after you’ve reflected on what you’ll need to improve on.
Self-reflection is a gift and without it, you’ll be lost. I’m glad that I discovered how important it is. Since I recently had the experience I thought it was perfect to share. It is my hope that you were inspired to do some self-reflection of your own. And I’d love for you to come back and tell me about it. If you have recently, I would love to hear about your experience and how it’s helped you. Thanks for stopping by and would love for you to subscribe for more inspiration. Until next time, be good to yourself.
