It’s my Blogiversary: Style Me Fancy by Pentené Turns Three!

Yes, you read that right love. Style Me Fancy by Pentené Turns Three! Three years ago today, I clicked the publish button for the first time unveiling my first live blog post. I’m not gonna lie – I definitely had butterflies not knowing how my blog would be received in the already saturated world of style and fashion blogging. But I just knew that it was something I wanted to do for me. I knew that this was a for sure way for me to connect with other women (and gents) sharing our common interest in the areas of style and fashion. I had high hopes that my blog could contribute to being inspiring and influential through my uniqueness. And brand myself as a fashion stylist.

As you could imagine my life was a lot different at that time. I was still married, parenting a then five year old child, studying image consulting and fashion styling (and exploring whatever possibilities came with this new aspiration I developed). My now ex husband would take my photos to capture the essence of me and my style so that I could put a visual as it would relate to the subject of my blog posts. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I would honestly draw inspiration from other bloggers for inspiration, but wanted to maintain ingenuity. Before I knew it, I began building a community and a network of like minded bloggers who would become my dearest friends and supporters to this day.

Good things come to those who believe. Better things come to those who are patient. The best things come to those who never give up.

By my second year so much had changed, and so did my blog. Just as I was going through a transformation after the end of my marriage and discovering my independence again, my blog’s content was being reshaped. I started gradually re-branding myself and blog in the process. There was an evolution happening inside of me and what I was writing became too small for my transcendent lifestyle. That’s when I believe Style Me Fancy by Pentené was truly born as my purpose started to reveal itself. The new direction helped me stand out in the crowds. Just as I was evolving, so was my blog.

My blog got me through some tough times. It turned out to be a creative outlet for me. I felt extremely blessed that it was apart of my life at a time so severe. It showed me that no matter what you are growing through if you keep going, you will thrive. Shut out all the negativity by doing the things that bring you joy.

I then discovered that I could use my platform as a way to inspire others to grow through style and take you all on the journey of transformation with me. Especially since we all experience transformation time and time again in our lifetimes. The challenges are always there to continue to shape you into the woman you are becoming and will continue to become so it made sense to tailor my posts in that way. I want you to know that you’re not alone.

I would like to thank each and every one of you as you have been such an essential part of this process. Thank you for your kind thoughts and compliments. Thank you for reading and caring about what I have to say. Thank you for supporting me the way that you do. As I look to empower you, just know that you empower me too.

Be good to yourself.

Xo,

Pentené Milner is a mother, influencer, stylist and all around lifer. She started Style Me Fancy by Pentené (a style, fashion and lifestyle blog) initially to brand herself as a stylist, but quickly turned it into a place to inspire women to find a sense of empowerment in their personal style. She’s a native of San Diego, California, but made Los Angeles her home in 2002. She enjoys being mom to her tween son, city life, fun with family (and friends that are like family), seeing the world, dressing up, dining, wineries and self caring at a spa. To her, as a former singer, music brings everything to light and many times writes while listening to it.
