Stepping Out of Your Style Norm

Stepping Out of Your Style Norm

You ever think a clothing style is not for you because you never thought it complemented your personal style? It’s not a style you would normally dress yourself in even though you think its cute, but instead of trying it out you continue to avoid it. You say to yourself or a friend, “It looks good on you, but I could never wear that”. But the honest truth is that you never really expected it to look good on you to begin with. For a long time I’ve felt that way about clothing styles that show my bare midriff or legs. I would always shy away from it in the summer time because I just wasn’t feeling it for myself, but loved the way other women embraced their bodies in those particular styles. That’s why this striped romper is helping me by stepping out of my style norm.

Like anything else, you live and you learn right? Or as I’d prefer to say it, you live and you grow. I’m happy to say that I learned to stage my petite body shape and started showing off my legs, shoulders and bare midriff in clothing styles that embrace them. Now instead of shying away I’m catering to my growth as a woman and wearing clothing styles that I would normally decline by stepping out of my comfort zone. Mo skin I’m giving and showing. This took some growing out of and thinking about getting the wrong type of attention, but as it turns out it was about the attention I wasn’t giving myself.  Moral of the story – inside love exudes through your style choices.

What styles have you been avoiding because you are afraid to step out of your comfort zone? Have you been ready to wear clothing styles that are not the norm for you, but don’t know where to start? The first style advice – do you. Just go for it and don’t think about it anymore. Those are the styles that will end up catering the most to your personal style and show your growth at the same time.

As always, thank you for visiting my blog and reading this post. Anytime you need any style advice I’m just a message away. Please subscribe and follow me for more style growth inspiration.
